Collapse rarely happens suddenly; it starts underneath.

Bo: five yin below, one lone yang above. The lines strip from the bed's foot to its frame to the flesh — damage approaches from afar, and by the time it hurts, the bottom has long been hollow. This hexagram offers no comfort; it only says: watch the bad news that does not yet hurt.

The answer to Bo is not endurance but seed-keeping. The great fruit is not eaten — keep the last fruit; do not eat it in panic. Bo ends by turning to the Return: a yang will be born again, provided the seed survived. Restraint now is not passivity; it is leaving possibility for the next cycle.

Practice In a contraction, first confirm the one thing that must never be touched — that is your seed. Everything else may be yielded.
In the four domains

01Career & decisions

Something is being stripped away — a role, a client, a structure. Do not prop it up; let the shedding complete and keep your foundation intact.

02Love & bonds

A relationship may be losing its floor. Do not build on the weak part; strengthen what is genuinely yours and stay soft-spoken.

03Wealth & resources

Cut exposure before the market cuts it for you. Deleverage, hold cash, and treat every promise of rescue as unverified.

04Body & mind

Rest is the treatment now. Eat well, sleep long, and let the body keep its own ground while the outer layer thins.

Timing & action

Stripping phase: shed, do not push. Cancel what cannot survive its own weight, and give the cycle a month to finish before rebuilding.
