Rising without pausePushing Upward
Upward is slow work, but it does not stop.
Sheng: earth above, wind below — wind rising through the ground, soundless but unceasing. Its signature is using the soft: no charging, no shouting, no competing, just continuing upward. All who truly rise are like trees on a mountain: slow to the eye, roots already wrapping the whole hill. Sheng also reminds: rising is not for show; it is getting closer to the sky.
A line: ascending the empty city — climbing into an undefended place, because ahead there is no longer an opponent. Late in the climb, the enemy is not others but whether you can keep on. The truest obstruction always appears in the highest stretch.
