Joy that speaksThe Joyous

Joy is not a state; it is a relation.

Dui is the lake — two lakes stacked, water meeting water, each visible to the other. Its joy is not private pleasure but the gladness between people born of candor. Dui's image is the mouth — all joy needs saying, needs expression, needs bringing the inner thing into view. Dui's caution: words must be exact; imprecise words turn joy into grievance.

The lines grade joy: harmonious joy — fortune; sincere joy — fortune; but the joy that comes courting, harboring an agenda, is misfortune. The difference is that one word, sincerity. Joy from honesty draws people near; joy from need puts them on guard.

Practice This week say one true sentence to each of three people you want to be near — not grand, not heavy; just unfeigned, unroundabout. Watch what honesty does to the bond.
In the four domains

01Career & decisions

Pleasantness persuades. Open the talks with genuine gladness — shared water between two marshes — and the hard terms soften on their own.

02Love & bonds

Joy, spoken and shared, is the bond's best builder. Say the pleasing true thing often; host; laugh first.

03Wealth & resources

Sell with gladness, buy with gladness — but let joy be the tone, never the argument. Beware deals that rely on your excitement alone.

04Body & mind

Schedule delight deliberately: music, water, friends, unhurried meals. Joy is a nutrient, not a reward.

Timing & action

Two marshes feed each other: make one exchange of joy daily — a message, a meeting, a meal — and watch negotiations bend toward the glad.
